Thought

Life is full of desires. Some seem far far away. But is God keeping some things away from us for a reason? So that we look away from what we want, and wonder at the things we do have? God is graceful to us and gives us big treasures that we do not see, Usually because we are focused on the wrong things. Focus on the right things. Focus on God. ;)

Why Education?

For all the young people out there, Wrestling with math? Bored with History? Succumbing under Grammar? I Understand. I've been there. And  I had this question: How will Geometry/ Calculus help me as an adult? What if I never became an engineer or a scientist? You might think I'm crazy but, here's the thing: Algebra is teaching us more than a(b+c) = ab +ac. Really. Math is  teaching us to think. My guess is that most of us will probably never use all of those complicated equations... But with Geometry, we are learning to think deductively. We can train our mind to learn. To fix our attention. Learn what we need for life. Learn from the circumstances and from the people around us. This brings me to "boring" history. I personally love history, it is my favorite subject. But it is more than "In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue". We are looking at men's and women's lives. Their successes and mistakes. We can learn from those mistakes,...

Description

This is a description I wrote for English Class. I hope, it gives away the right connotation: majesty.  T he road to Monterrey extends for miles and miles, until it disappears into the skirts of the great mountains that look upon anything that roams earth with kingly superiority. The Sierra Madre Oriental lines the orange horizon. Because of its height, it appears to be close, but after an hour of travel, it still sits far away. The plains that stand below, at the mercy of the mountains, extend as wings from the road. As guards, dark slender trees with spiny heads stand scattered along the plain among the golden grass. The sun, already hidden from sight, seems to have set the plains beyond on smokeless fire. The flames dissolve into a blue that darkens with altitude until, at last, disappears in the blanket of clouds. And the sky, which carries the flag, crowns the mountains in their glory.

Millions of Years?

In 1997, a project was started to determine the age of our planet Earth, consisting of 8 scientists, who had PhDs in Atmospheric Science, Physics, Geophysics, Geology, and Hebraic and Cognate Studies. This group was titled RATE (Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth).        "The objective was to gather data commonly ignored or censored by evolutionary standards of dating. The scientists reviewed the assumptions and procedures used in estimating the ages of rocks and fossils. The results of the carbon-14 dating demonstrated serious problems for long geologic ages."*        In various experiments, the samples resulted being dated thousands of years old, not millions as they had been dated by other radiometric dating methods.       "The RATE scientists are convinced that the popular idea attributed to Charles Lyell from nearly two centuries ago, 'the present is the key to the past,' is simply ...

Where did man come from?

-In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Gen. 1:1) -And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.(Gen. 1:21) -And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Gen. 1:26) -So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him ; male and female created he them. (Gen. 1:27)

John Ray: Father of Natural History

"There is for a free man no occupation more worthy and delightful than to contemplate the beauteous works of nature and honour the infinite wisdom and goodness of GOD." -- John Ray (1660)

Give Glory unto the Lord

1 Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength. 2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord int he beauty of holiness.  3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the lord is upon many waters.  4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty . 5 The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars; yea, the Lord breaketh the cedars of Lebanon...  7 The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire.  Psalms 29: 1-5, 7

On Universal Design

"Can it be by accident that all birds, beasts, and men have their right and left side alike shaped (except in their bowels); and just two eyes, and no more, on either side of the face; and just two ears on either side [of] the head; and a nose with two holes; and either two forelegs or two wings or two arms on the shoulders, and two legs on the hips, and no more?                  "Whence arises this uniformity in all their outward  shapes but from the counsel and contrivance of an Author? Whence is it that the eyes of all sort of living creatures are transparent to the very bottom, and the only transparent members int he body, having on the outside a hard transparent skin and within transparent humors, with a crystalline lens in the middle and a pupil before the lens, all of them so finely shaped and fitted for vision that no artist can mend them?              "Did blind ch...
