Thought

Life is full of desires. Some seem far far away. But is God keeping some things away from us for a reason? So that we look away from what we want, and wonder at the things we do have? God is graceful to us and gives us big treasures that we do not see, Usually because we are focused on the wrong things. Focus on the right things. Focus on God. ;)

Why Education?

For all the young people out there, Wrestling with math? Bored with History? Succumbing under Grammar? I Understand. I've been there. And  I had this question: How will Geometry/ Calculus help me as an adult? What if I never became an engineer or a scientist? You might think I'm crazy but, here's the thing: Algebra is teaching us more than a(b+c) = ab +ac. Really. Math is  teaching us to think. My guess is that most of us will probably never use all of those complicated equations... But with Geometry, we are learning to think deductively. We can train our mind to learn. To fix our attention. Learn what we need for life. Learn from the circumstances and from the people around us. This brings me to "boring" history. I personally love history, it is my favorite subject. But it is more than "In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue". We are looking at men's and women's lives. Their successes and mistakes. We can learn from those mistakes,...

Description

This is a description I wrote for English Class. I hope, it gives away the right connotation: majesty.  T he road to Monterrey extends for miles and miles, until it disappears into the skirts of the great mountains that look upon anything that roams earth with kingly superiority. The Sierra Madre Oriental lines the orange horizon. Because of its height, it appears to be close, but after an hour of travel, it still sits far away. The plains that stand below, at the mercy of the mountains, extend as wings from the road. As guards, dark slender trees with spiny heads stand scattered along the plain among the golden grass. The sun, already hidden from sight, seems to have set the plains beyond on smokeless fire. The flames dissolve into a blue that darkens with altitude until, at last, disappears in the blanket of clouds. And the sky, which carries the flag, crowns the mountains in their glory.

Current Event: Life in Outer Space?

From < http://www.foxnews.com/weather/2017/02/22/7-earth-sized-planets-discovered-orbiting-nearby-star-could-harbor-liquid-water/ >           On February 22, NASA announced the discovery of a new system: seven planets orbiting a star. This star is called TRAPPIST-1 and is 39 light-years away. All of the planets are earth-sized. Scientists believe they may contain liquid water.           “This discovery could be a significant piece in the puzzle of finding habitable environments, places that are conducive to life,” said Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of the agency’s Science Mission Directorate in Washington. “Answering the question, ‘are we alone?’ is a top science priority and finding so many planets like these for the first time in the habitable zone is a remarkable step forward toward that goal.”           Nevertheless, thes...

A Thought of Today

So... here we are, watching as the world goes from bad to worse. One more day, here we are, living in a cursed earth, witnessing that the nature of man never, never changes.  And no matter what, we as humans can never change that nature. Because since Adam and Eve sinned, every single human being has been born with a sinful nature. I think Romans chapter 1 gives a clear description of it.  And ... " Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools." (Rom.1:12.) " And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;" (Rom 1:28).  But thank God for his gift of freedom from sin!  Just a thought for my brothers and sisters in Christ!

Current Event: Donald Trump and his Wall

Trump and the Wall Bibliography: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-37243269       The president of the United States started his endeavor to build a wall to separate the US from Mexico. Though the border covers 1,900 miles, Donald Trump claims, “I would build a great wall , and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I build them very inexpensively.”   The article deals first with how much would the wall cost. The president affirms that the cost will range from $10bn to $12bn. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell calculated otherwise, a cost from $12bn to $15bn. A study of the Washington Post estimated a cost of $25bn. So far, 650 miles of fencing has been already laid on the frontier, with a cost of $7bn. "Adding even more to the expense, the new 1,000 miles would crisscross private land, which would have to be purchased, perhaps by legal force, or financial settlements made with owners".   Next, the article g...

Bible Verse

"For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you." 1Peter 1:24-25. The glory of manㅡall the medals, awards, achievementsㅡ  fades and is forgotten. The famous and rich die, but the word of the Lord endureth for ever.

Alabar Trabajando

Gracias! Shalom!
